Who knew? A son of the founder of Chabad converted to Christianity. Internecine warfare between Chassidic sects, suicide attempts and other long buried secrets of the Chassids are described in a new book by David Assaf, reviewed in Haaretz.

well this is really no great surprise nor much of a stretch- the direct antecedents of the chassidim, the Sabateans flocked to convert to Islam

in addition, the cult of the tzaddik and the messianic rapture that was pioneered by chabad lends itself very well to translation to christianity- which is so much more satisfying when you consider that their messiah has already revealed himself
